So, as I've mentioned before, or at least I thought I did (there goes that memory, or lack there of) I have myofascial pain syndrome from a work place injury complication. For 2 years I couldn't drive, I couldn't hold a toothbrush, I couldn't dress myself. I was in a world of hurt. And a drug guinea pig for the workcover 'specialists' whose only interest was getting me back to work. Not suitable work mind you. I damaged all the nerves and nerve conducting sheath around my tendons in my right arm but it effects my entire upper body. Loss of co ordination, sensation, movement, strength and endurance. And did I mention pain? The finer the movement, the worse it gets. Typing ain't so good, but trying to write is a million times worse. I spent 18 months in out patient re hab to learn how to function again. NOT FUN. I know, it sounds like a dream vacation and all but it just wasn't like the brochure at all!
Then I had my beautiful daughter. I got PND. I also developed IBS (badly, I was in hospital for it). I also have been diagnosed with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome & Fibromyalgia.
Thing is I am a VERY independent and hands on creative in charge kind of girl. I don't say no, even when it means i'll end up on deaths door.
I used to do lots of paper craft, but the pain is just too much. So, I embroider. No silly, not by hand, on the machine. And no, it's not as simple as pushing a button and walking away. No where near it. And when you can't remember what your own name is or what day it is (even though you take the pill but can't remember if you took it today or not) it can become a very complex task. And ask ANY machine embroiderer, they'll willingly tell you just how moody a machine can be!
So, I do a bit here and there. Mainly for friends and family. I test for digitisers (to make sure their designs work etc) and one day, I hope to grow this business. If I can stay awake long enough! I'm having really bad brain fade as I type this lol. It's like 10 seconds to remember how to spell 'I'. Seriously.
So, here I am, showing off some of the things I have made, in spite of everything that gets in my way and should stop me from doing this. And i'm a mum, a wife, a friend and asleep! lmao!!!
